Driver's Ed and Your Driver's License Driver's Ed is a requirement to get a driver's license for teenagers and new adult drivers in many states. While driver's education and training programs will differ from state to state, completing a course will help prepare you to pass the written exam and road test administered by your state's Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV), Department of Revenue (DOR), Motor Vehicle Division (MVD), or Department of Public Safety (DPS). Water polo is one of the toughest and most demanding sports an athlete can play. Being an Illinois water polo athlete is an awesome athletic opportunity. We are proud to host great water polo teams here at Curie HS. At the conclusion of each high school season, IWP sponsors an All-Star competition between Illinois All-State Top 40 Boy and Girl Athletes. At this time, we'd like to congratulate a few of our Boys Water Polo athletes who will compete as members of the All-Star and Illinois state-level teams. Congratulations to Jose Servin who was named to the All-State 3rd Team by Illinois Water Polo! They demonstrate the Curie Way and all of them are eligible to receive athletic scholarships to compete at the collegiate level because they each have an unweighted GPA that exceeds the minimum 2.3 GPA eligibility criteria for the NCAA Eligibility Clearinghouse. This past weekend, our lady Condors were treated to a pre-game celebration dinner at Pizano's (South Loop) and honored at center court during halftime at the WNBA Chicago Sky season opening game. Our girls basketball team received recognition as 'High School Team of the Week' as well as a nomination for 'High School Team of the Year'. “Our team wants to be remembered for hopefully being the first girls basketball team out of Curie to go to win our conference,” said Raegan King, who nominated the team for the honor. To Coach Brooks and our lady Condors, thank you for serving as an inspiration to others by making a positive impact in the Curie community and redefining possible for those around you.
